The Cinque Terre Park

Stunning beaches, stunning sheer cliffs, and crystal-clear sea waters make the Cinque Terre one of the most welcoming areas of the eastern Ligurian Riviera.

With its enchanting little beaches among the rocks and stunning inlets that plunge into cobalt-blue seabeds, it is surely one of the most picturesque areas of Liguria.

Monterosso al Mare

Monterosso al Mare is located in the center of a small natural gulf, protected by a modest artificial reef, east of Punta Mesco on the La Spezia Riviera. It constitutes the westernmost part of the Cinque Terre.

Vernazza

Starting from the west, it is the second of the towns that make up the Cinque Terre, nestled in a bay between the towns of Monterosso al Mare and Riomaggiore, and also includes the next village of Corniglia, its hamlet.

Corniglia

Corniglia is centrally located with respect to the other centers of the Cinque Terre, situated east of the municipal seat, Vernazza (to which it is joined by a picturesque promenade set halfway between the peak and the sea) and Monterosso, and west of Manarola and Riomaggiore. It differs from the other villages in the Cinque Terre in that it is the only village that does not directly overlook the sea.

Riomaggiore

Riomaggiore, as well as the other Cinque Terre, is sandwiched between the Ligurian Sea and the steep mountain range that breaks away from the Apennines at Mount Zatta and descends in a southeasterly direction, acting as a watershed between the Vara valley and the coastal area. The historic center, the original core of which dates back to the 13th century, is situated in the valley of the Rio Maggiore stream, the ancient Rivus Major from which the village takes its name.

Manarola

Manarola

The colorful dwellings, consisting of typical Genoese tower houses, face each other back-to-back on the main street, called Via Discovolo carved out of the cover of the waterway. The village then climbs the rocky ridge that juts out into the sea, resulting in a network of narrow carrugi, which run parallel on several intermediate levels connected by irregular slate steps. Among the five villages it is the smallest after Corniglia.

Portofino

Portofino is one of the most renowned and famous resorts on the Ligurian Riviera. In fact, the resort hosts major tourist and cultural events attended even by famous personalities from the world of culture and entertainment. In short, a unique and obligatory destination for those who decide to spend their vacation in this beautiful part of the Ligurian Riviera, where there is, at the same time, the opportunity to immerse themselves in aunique atmosphere based on ancient maritime traditions.

Santa Margherita Ligure

The Pearl of Tigullio located between Rapallo and Portofino, S. Margherita is one of the most beautiful locations in Liguria, if we consider the surrounding environment and the livability that comes with it. A town mainly developed by the sea, it gives visitors’ eyes a peculiar panorama organized in successive coves colored by the old terraced houses by the sea. It is no wonder that Santa Margherita Ligure is called the Pearl of Tigullio; in fact, in addition to being a renowned seaside resort with numerous bathing establishments and luxurious hotels, the town is also an important landing area for passenger ships from all over the world.
